              Pickup Hitch Cables for Tractors

              Hitch cables are usually used to control the release mechanism of a tractor's pickup hitch. One end of the cable is attached to the release on the hitch and the other end is attached to a handle that is sometimes an integral part of the hitch cable assembly. When the handle is pulled the cable slides inside an outer casing which is fixed along a route weaving through from the hitch through a winding route to the operator's console. The pickup hitch works with other linkage connections (e.g. 3 point hitch linkages) to provide a flexible and fast connection between the tractor and the implement being towed by the machine. To avoid snagging the inside surface of the casing is smooth to minimise friction for when the hitch cable is pulled and when installing the cable turn radiuses should be minimised and mounted away from any moving parts to avoid unnecessary wearing down of the cable which could eventually lead to component failure.
