Top Link Assemblies 3 Point Linkage Definition of Categories The linkage of a tractor is usually described in terms of category 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. The table shows the dimensions which correspond to these Categories. The left hand thread end of top link denotes tractor end and right hand thread end of top link denotes implement end. The locking collar is normally used at the implement end of the top link. For top links the first category measurement shown denotes tractor end. The second category measurement shown denotes the implement end. i.e :- cat 2/3 denotes cat 2 is tractor end of the top link, cat 3 is the implement end. Some tractor yokes have specific metric measurements rather than a category size. These measurements are shown, as example 28mm/cat2. This denotes 28mm is the tractor end of the top link and cat 2 is the implement end. The Min-Max adjustment measurement of a top link is taken between the centres of each ball, knuckle or hook end.
