Here are a few useful tips to help you when buying parts online:

              1. Know your tractor model number in advance
                • The easiest and possibly by far the quickest way to find your tractor's model number is to look at the identification tag/plate located on the tractor.
                • This should be quite easy to find and is normally located on the engine block or chassis frame, but there maybe more than one tag/plate on the tractor which could be for the engine, the chassis or the tractor so make sure you're looking at the correct one. The image below shows a typical tag/plate on a McCormick International B-275 tractor.
                • Identification plate on a B-275 tractor
                • The tag/plate will normally will have the make, model and serial number stamped or engraved on the plate.
                • On older machines you'll need to make sure that the number is not worn out as a 7 can easily be mistook for a 1 or vice versa. Sometimes taking a rubbing of the plate may help to reveal the correct number.
                • If you would like to find out more about your tractor's model history then tractordata.com maybe a good place to look, otherwise a quick internet search will show numerous fan based sites for popular tractor makes that may also be able to help.
              2. Having the correct part number could save you time
