              Volvo Parts

Volvo started to develop tractors in the 1940’s by themselves but wanted to produce better machines so in 1943 they sort collaboration with Bolinder-Muntell, a Swedish tractor and machine manufacturer whose origins go back as far as 1832. The two companies built similar tractors to each other but in 1950 it was decided that Volvo should acquire the Bolinder-Munktell company. Tractor production was moved to Eskilstuna in the Södermanland County, Sweden. The brands were kept separate until 1957 when they started to use BM Volvo brand but was later changed to Volvo BM AB as the Volvo name carried more recognition for quality. In 1979 the tractor business was joined with Valmet (now Valtra) who eventually brought the tractor business in 1985.
