              LED WORK LIGHTS

              LED Work lights

Vehicle lighting has continually improved as new technologies have been developed. Tractor lights were initailly lite using incandescent bulbs but before long they were replaced with halogen lights. Then followed HID (High Intensity Discharge) technology, but now a new technology is taken the spotlight, LEDs.

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are solid light bulbs which are extremely energy-efficient. When compared to older lighting sources, LEDs are more durable and have a longer lifespan, commonly, LED lamps can last up to 50,000 hours. This is because led lamps usually do not have the effect of burning filaments, shortening wicks, or consumable vapours, since LED lamps do not have any moving parts they are more resistant to vibrations and shocks. They are also usually tougher than other bulbs, making it the most resilient source of light for tractors.

Manufacturers have expanded the application of LEDs by clustering the small bulbs encased in diffuser lenses which spread the light in wider beams. The ongoing development of LEDs sees them being used in an assortment of applications relating to tractors lights and lamps including hazard lights, rear lights, beacons, torches and many more.

The new bulbs in LED tractor work lights are an upgrade of the standard filament bulbs as LEDs are one of the best quality bulbs that you can use at night time as they use less power than normal bulbs but they also produce light that is whiter, making objects light up brighter in the dark.

              FAQ

What will I gain by replacing my work lights with LED ones?

There are many benifits when comparing LEDs with ordinary bulbs, these include: Less heat, last longer, virtually indestructible and they do not contain hazardous materials

When buying LEDs do I choose the amount of Lumens or the amount of Watts?

When purchasing new LED lights you should always select them based on the lumens that they produce, as the watts displays the amount of energy used to produce the stated number of lumens. A good rule to follow would be to choose a light that has a good lumen to watt ratio. The higher the number, the less energy will be required to produce the light.

Why are LEDs more robust than standard bulbs?

LEDs have no gases, filaments and no moving parts to break. Also there is no glass to break or screwed contacts to loosen over time.
