              Tractor Foot Throttle Cables

              An engine's throttle value which controls the engine's speed by limiting fuel or air is often controlled by a cable connected to the engine on one end and a foot pedal on the other. For tractors engines with ECU (electronic control units) the throttle valves are controlled electrically and the foot operated gas pedal will instead be linked to the throttle position sensor (such as a potentiometer) , there may or may not be actual throttle cable. The construction of throttle cables typically includes a protective covering for the cable to avoid snagging and wear damage. The attachments on each end of the cable fuses it with levers and cams that controls the throttle. It is important to choose a replacement cable that has the same attachments as the original foot throttle cable you are replacing.

              How do I know which is the correct cable to use for my foot throttle

              Each tractor make and model is different in layout in terms of connection required between the accelerator pedal and the throttle (or ECU controlling the throttle or fuel injectors). It is important to match your replacement cable with your original one by application (tractor model). How these cables connect to the engine and pedals may also be different. You should use the same type of cable connection on both ends of the cable as the one you are swapping out.
