Dating back to 1876 and branded as the Hartford Machine Screw, they developed the automatic screw machine, a revolutionary innovation for the period. They changed the name in 1900 to the Standard Screw Company and became a leading supplier of precision metal components. In the years after WWII they diverged into producing technically advanced fuel pumps for engines. When the name changed again in 1970 they became Stanadyne, the company ushered in a new wave of technologies, including fuel filters and additives. At the time, Stanadyne diesel fuel pumps offered the most fuel-efficient design and the company experienced rapid growth during the 1973 oil crisis. The company continued to expand its products to include electronic governing diesel rotary pumps, diesel common rail pumps and direct injection fuel pumps for gasoline engines. Today, the company is reimagining its product portfolio and providing tailored solutions for its customers.
